🐥The Paradox of Now #38
🛏️Do you have a 10 tog duvet?
Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes
Hi people!
There may be a few changes happening in the next couple of weeks, with lots going on and so this may not follow it’s traditional look, but maybe that could be for the best.
Change can be a good thing and so let’s see what the future brings.
Now let me give you a taste of what's coming:
🐥 Riding horses
🐥 Airplane friends
🐥 Smiling teeth
The Paradox of Now

Get Back on the Horse
If it takes less than 2 minutes, just do it
When that voice says, “I can’t be bothered,” do it anyway. Put the recycling out. Reply to the text. Small actions create momentum when everything else feels heavy.Go for a walk
I have never once gone for a walk and come back feeling worse. Even on the busiest days, or when I have convinced myself I do not have time, I have always returned feeling neutral at worst and usually a little lighter.Make your bed
Simple, but effective. It sets the tone for the day. Even if it is the only thing you manage, you have already completed something. A small victory is still a victory.Eat and stay hydrated
When your mind feels low, your appetite often follows. The thought of eating well feels like effort. But do your best to fuel your body, even just once that week. And drink more water than you think you need. You are probably still not drinking enough.
Move your body
Movement helps. Whether it is walking, lifting weights, yoga, or sport, get your heart rate up. Let your body do what your mind cannot, even for a short while.Sleep
When life throws you off balance, try to keep to your usual bedtime. Do what you can. Listen to something calm if it helps you unwind. Rest is repair.Action is the antidote to anxiety
Starting is the hardest part. Especially when you do not want to get out of bed, exercise, or face that project. Start small. Do one thing. Every day without action makes the mountain feel taller, but one small step starts the climb again.
These are not rules. You might disagree with some or have your own. If so, share them in the poll. That is how we continue to improve our small corner of the world.
They are simply reminders I return to when I feel stuck. I wrote them quickly and trusted that the first things that came to mind were the ones I needed most.
Most of us already know what helps. We just forget. The trick is to remember and to act.
It might feel pointless at first, but small actions compound. Over time, they build strength.
And before you know it, you are back on that horse again, riding into your own quiet sunset of momentum and hope.
🐥 Haiku’s Haiku 🐥
Richard drew the short straw and ended up in the spare seat next to all the boys flying to Benidorm.
He was a great sport though. Joined in with the chaos and even built a duck.
It’s always a gamble deciding whether to chat with your seat neighbour, but more often than not, something good comes from it.
Even if it’s just inspiration for a Haiku.

Haiku #38
Richard’s not a Dick,
Although some Richard’s are Dicks,
Richard built a duck.
🌴 Palm Tree Euphoria 🌴
Something for you to get your teeth into:
If you were to draw a tooth smiling would your tooth have teeth?
See you next week Dashing Ducks! 🐥
P.S. if this mildly cursed question made you grin, forward it to a fellow duckling who overthinks cartoon anatomy too.
Word of beak is how we help improve our small corner of the world.
PLUS… Doing so gets you a FREE gift!
